Tidewater Hokie Club:
I would like to take this opportunity to: (1) submit a resume and (2) request nothing more than to network my qualifications during an historical ecomonic crisis. I'm not currently an active member of the THC (I do sport a 757 sticker on the rear bumper) but am however, a 1980 graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Management and of course I'm "Orange and Maroon" bleeding. I've been recently laid-off and am attempting to pull out all the stops to protect my family as well as keep my home.
As is indicated in my resume, I have an extensive background in business startup and design, management, operations, budget, communications, public relations and technical sales. These skills and experience were paramount, while being employed in the fields of aviation and public safety. Furthermore, I can display
these qualities with enthusiasm and detail.
I feel that my educational background at Virginia Tech (B.S.-Management) as well as my work experience in both management and operations, combined with the fact
that I have designed, developed and operated my own Flight Department and private business (one of which was awarded by the Virginia Beach City Council after a task force recommendation of competitive bids), will certainly benefit any company. In addition, I have approximately two years of Sales experience,
which included working with Motorola as a Technical Sales Representative.
While employed in the fields of Aviation, Law Enforcement (Virginia State Certified LEO) and Emergency Medical Services, I marketed, designed and developed organizations responsible for public safety. These experiences allowed me the opportunity to “think on the run” in tense and dramatic situations while
developing a network of business and municipal contacts. I believe my qualifications and confidence to work with a resolve will make me an asset to any and all.
I'd like to close by "thanking you" as well as the THC for any assistance that might be offered as well as apologize should you consider this approach to aggressive in nature.
Sincerely Enthusiastic, (about them HOKIES!)

Incorporated a strong work ethic with a skill level that resulted in employment or selection with the following high profile companies; Washington Redskins NFL Franchise, BASF Corporation and Piedmont Aviation.
Designed, developed, operated and marketed a 100+ page bid proposal while recruiting four investors. This process resulted in the Virginia Beach City Council awarding our corporation the bid to provide lifeguard protection and rentals for the Virginia Beach Resort Oceanfront. The management, supervision, communications and training provided in this proposal were directly responsible for a fatality free operation. The first time this had been achieved in over ten years. Over 80+ employees.
Managed for two different Development and Management Companies as Director of Operations and Regional Manager. Responsible for over 100 employees, twelve Multi-Family Complexes and twelve Commercial Centers. Upgraded moral and productivity at several sites that were at all time lows.
Designed, developed and operated a new Corporate Flight Department that consisted of two aircraft valued at over $10 million dollars. Duties included: aircraft acquisitions, budgets, personnel (three pilots), training, maintenance, excel spreadsheet/logo design as well as the logistical coordination of all safe flight operations for both domestic and international corporate travel.
Developed training and documentation programs that overhauled and improved Federal programs. The programs were accepted, upgraded and commended.
Reduced operating budgets at two successful companies through introducing cost cutting initiatives while implementing “team concepts” that rallied around integrity and accountability at all levels.
Created new procedures for training, maintenance inventory and work scheduling that saved more than $50,000 annually while improving efficiency by 30% and increasing productivity and accountability.
Designed a Municipal Beach Patrol for the Town of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina at the request of the Town Mayor. The design, which was outlined in 120+ page proposal, was later used as a benchmark for a new municipal Ocean Rescue Division that exists today and saves approximately $140,000 over five years.
